The Light House
Gallery, Nottingham
NG1 7FG

The Light House is a new, modern exhibition space located in the entrance to Nottingham city. Bright, exciting light installation art can be seen throughout the gallery, work of artists from all around the globe. The Light House’s purpose is to draw people in of all ages and fit into the new and ever-changing part of Nottingham. The new bohemian atmosphere connects to the creative ports of Lace Market and relates back to the, once, artist dominated area. The site is in a state of transformation, and this new fresh gallery and workshop space will be adding to the new reimagined vision for the city.

Isometric with highlighted cafe space
The perspective sections demonstrate the gallery and cafe space. The gallery space housed light exhibitions on interlocking oak panes. Another dark room exhibition space can be found on the second floor, as well as a roof top courtyard. The double-height exhibition and cafe space share light from the different floors within the gallery and make the space feel more sociable and calming.

Extensive research, site analysis, precedent research and sketching went into these final designs.
